How to Pack and Send a Parcel Safely for Same-Day Delivery

By the Parcilo Team••4 min read

Same-day delivery is fast, but your parcel still rides through traffic and potholes. A few minutes of packing makes sure it arrives the way it left.

Packing by type

  • Documents: use a sturdy envelope or a folder, and a plastic sleeve in the monsoon.
  • Food: use sealed, leak-proof containers and put them upright in a bag that can stay flat.
  • Electronics: original box if possible, otherwise bubble wrap and a snug carton with no empty space.
  • Glass and ceramics: wrap each piece separately, fill gaps, and mark the box FRAGILE.
  • Clothes and soft items: a sealed bag or carton is enough.

Before the rider arrives

  • Seal the parcel completely and write the receiver’s name and phone number on it.
  • Enter the exact pickup and drop points, with a landmark, floor and gate number.
  • Add a note for the rider if the item must stay upright or is fragile.
  • Make sure the receiver knows a delivery is coming and will share the OTP.

What not to send

Do not send cash, jewellery, illegal items, flammable or hazardous goods, or anything that is too heavy or large for the vehicle you booked. If in doubt, book a bigger vehicle.

How OTP handover protects you

With Parcilo, the parcel is released only when the receiver shares the delivery OTP with the captain. You can follow the trip live and share the tracking link, so the receiver knows exactly when to be ready.
